Historical, musical and social transmedia documentary that includes a full length film and a webdoc which analyze the influence of the punk subculture on Madrid society.
After forty years of Franco’s dictatorship, Spain begins to open up to the world. The youth of Madrid start their own cultural revolution adding a new perspective to London fashion. In the shadow of artists and bands as well known as Ramoncín or Kaka de Luxe, other punk groups are banned from the scene. Some of them consider new social structures and practices such as self-management.
What we did was secret is a feature length documentary narrated by its protagonists that talks about the relationship between the underground music scene after the Movida Madrileña and the social movements of the 80s.
A «work in progress» version of the film won the 2016 BEST NATIONAL DOCUMENTARY award at the IN-EDIT musical documentary festival. More information and content on the film’s website:
The Webdoc What we did was secret is an original idea of Eleventh Floor made for the RTVE Lab.
Interactive documentary that complements the feature film with new contents, in which the protagonists share their vision through stories in video, photographs, music, illustrations and a long list of others.

Today, What we did was secret is recognized as an indisputable reference to the history of Madrid punk and has more than 5,000 followers on Facebook.
The film has toured festivals around the world such as Bafici or Asbury Park Music + Film Festival, and has been premiered at La 2 TVE in June 2019.
